Recipe: Cheesecake Swirl Brownies

In search of a chocolate-y desserts, I came across this recipe on Eating Well and have since been in love with it! These brownies are perfect for bake sales and parties and I've even managed to get friends who don't usually like cheesecake to adore it. When you're looking for something more than the usual chocolate brownie, this is your go-to recipe!

Ingredients:
1 box brownie mix
4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon nonfat plain yogurt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and coat brownie pan with oil or cooking spray.
  2. Prepare brownie layer according to instructions on the brownie mix box
  3. Cream cheese topping: in a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Add egg, flour, yogurt, and vanilla, and beat until well blended.
  5. Scrape 2/3 of the brownie batter into prepared brownie pan.
  6. Slowly pour the cream cheese topping evenly onto the brownie layer.
  7. Drop the remaining brownie batter into pan and use chopsticks or skewers through the two batters to create swirls.
  8. Bake the brownies for about 25 minutes until the top is just firm.
  9. Let the brownies cool and then cut into bars before serving.

This recipe is definitely my all-time favourite. I have made these countless times and everyone who has tasted them are absolutely in love with them!
